Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Back-End Tester to join our QA team. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing back-end and server components of our financial planning & analytics add-on software. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our software's integration with Power BI and other backend systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test Planning & Design:
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for back-end and server-side components.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other QA team members to understand requirements and define testing strategies.
• Functional & Non-Functional Testing:
• Perform functional testing to validate the logic and data integrity of back-end services and APIs.
• Conduct performance, load, and stress testing to assess system stability and responsiveness under varying conditions.
• Execute security testing to identify potential vulnerabilities in the back-end systems.
• Automation & Scripting:
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for regression testing of server components.
• Utilize tools such as Selenium, JMeter, or Postman for API and load testing.
• Defect Management:
• Identify, document, and track defects using a bug tracking system (e.g., JIRA).
• Work closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
• Integration Testing:
• Test the integration of the add-on software with Power BI and other third-party systems.
• Validate data flows, ETL processes, and API interactions between the add-on and Power BI.
• Reporting & Documentation:
• Provide detailed test reports and analysis to stakeholders.
• Document test cases, procedures, and outcomes for future reference.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on quality improvements.
• Stay updated on the latest testing tools, trends, and methodologies to enhance the testing process.
• Data Validation:
• Validate data completeness, accuracy, and integrity between source and target databases.
• Perform record counts, data type checks, and validation of primary/foreign key relationships.
• Ensure that business rules and data constraints are correctly applied in the target system.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in testing back-end and server components, preferably in the financial or analytics domain.
• Proficiency in testing RESTful APIs, databases, and server-side logic.
• Experience with automated testing tools like Selenium, JMeter, Postman, etc.
• Strong understanding of performance testing and tuning.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Power BI or similar BI platforms.
• Knowledge of financial planning and analytics processes.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS).
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
